Lawrence "Pops" Wood

Lawrence A. "Pops" Wood age 71 died Sunday June 26, 2005 at his home. He has lived in Rose City since 1997 moving from Saginaw. Larry was born on December 14, 1933 in Bay City to Everett and Ella (Osterman) Wood. Larry retired from GM Grey Iron Foundry in Saginaw in 1996. He was a member of the ATV Offroad Club of Michigan. He enjoyed hunting , fishing, wood working, and riding quads with family and friends. Larry married June A. Lemaire on December 10, 1982 in Saginaw. She survives. Also surviving are children; Kimberly Tarkowski (Michael) of Milford, Robin Humble (David) of Carrollton, Lawrence Wood (Cyndi) of White Lake, Kurt Wood (Lorrie) of Lake Orion. Step Children, Daniel Nowak of Clare, Michael T. Nowak of Albuquerque New Mexico, Marie Stroebel of Saginaw, John T. Nowak of Saginaw, and Catherine M. Nowak of Saginaw. Larry had 13 grandchildren and 4 great grandchildren. He als survived brothers Art Wood (Mary) of Bradenton, Fl. and Fred Wood (Goldie)of Gladwin. Sisters Eleanor Verellen of Kawkawlin, Audrey Jenkins of Bay City, and Kay Harlow (Robert) of Tenn. Also several nieces and newphews. He was preceded in death by his first wife Bobbie Wood and his parents, Everett and Ella Wood. Visitation will be on Wednesday, June 29, 05 from 2:00 to 5:00P.M. and from 7:00 to 9:00P.M. at Steuernol & McLaren Funeral Home, Rose City. Memorial services will be on Thursday, June 30, 2005 at 2:00P.M. The Rev. Robert Cottle will officiate. Memorial Contribution may be made to Mid Michigan Hospice.
