Lloyd Oyster

January 19, 1922 — April 24, 2010

Lloyd “Red” B. Oyster, 88, of Lupton passed away Saturday April 24, 2010 at home peacefully, surrounded by his family. Lloyd was born Jan. 19, 1922 in Lupton. He enjoyed hunting, fishing and visiting with family and friends. Lloyd served in the army during World War II as a Machine gunner. He also was a jack of all trades; a mechanic, block and brick mason, carpenter and retired at the age of 79 as a State Park Ranger. Lloyd is survived by his children, Joyce (Wayne) Gould and Joseph (Bernadette) Oyster both of Lupton, Susan (Bob) Maddox of Bowie, Texas, Larry (Rhonda) Oyster of Wauirka Okla., Jean (Kim) Card and Russell (Gloria) Oyster both of Rose City, and Linda (John) Pruett of Jacksboro, Texas. Also surviving are 17 grandchildren and 26 great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his wife, Marjorie; daughter Nancy Weaver, and great-grandson Brett Mayhew. Visitation was at Steuernol and McLaren Funeral Home in Rose City will take place on Wednesday April 28, 2010 from 3-8 p.m. The funeral service will take place at 11:00 a.m. on Thursday, April 29, 2010, at the funeral home. Rev. Daniel Stoneback will officiate with burial following in Lane Heights Cemetery, Lupton. Memorial contributions may be made to Hospice of Helping Hands, West Branch or to the Family.
