Lyndle "Bud" Ray Martin

Lyndle Ray Martin, age 87, passed away on Friday, July 23, 2021 at Mission Point of Roscommon. He was born on October 18, 1933 in Banner, AR to Lonnie and Audrey (Sharp) Martin. Bud lived in the West Branch/Clear Lake area for the past 19 years, formerly of West Bloomfield Twp., MI. On November 19, 1983 he married Judith Luelleman in Pontiac, MI.

Bud was born and raised on the family farm and was one of nine children, falling in the middle of his siblings. He left the farm when he was 20 years old and moved to Indiana. He was a truck driver for a few years and then was employed as an off-road diesel mechanic. Bud was a member of the Operating Engineers Union #324 for 65 years. He was a member of the Ogemaw Hills Snowmobile Club and enjoyed snowmobiling. He also traveled to 49 states in his RV and belonged to the Blue Water RV Club.

Bud is survived by his loving wife, Judith Martin of West Branch; daughters, Patricia (Mark) Orler of West Bloomfield Twp., MI, and Barbara (David) Arbaugh of Charlotte, NC; grandchildren, Lindsay Orler, Katie Orler, and Jeanette Vanderpool; great grandchildren, Elliott, Fallynn, Marissa, Angelina, and Robert; brother, Lowell (Carolyn) Martin of IN; sister, Annetta Porter of Westland, MI; and several nieces and nephews.

He is preceded in death by his parents, daughter, Diana, and siblings, Onus, Evelyn, Edna, Leeola, Vernon, and Weldon.

Visitation at Steuernol & McLaren Funeral Home in West Branch will begin on Monday, July 26, 2021 from 7:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. The funeral service will be held at the funeral home on Tuesday, July 27, 2021 at 11:00 a.m. Burial will follow at Damon Cemetery. Pastor Ken Peterson will officiate.
