Margaret Mary LeDuc, age 88, of West Branch, passed away Tuesday, May 8, 2007 at her home surrounded by her family. Margaret was born June 16, 1918 in West Branch to Malcolm and Mary Valley. She married Edmond LeDuc on September 25, 1935 in West Branch. Margaret and Ed owned and operated LeDuc's Machine Shop in West Branch for many years. Ed and Margaret were avid race car drivers and fans, square danced for many years and also enjoyed snowmobiling. Margaret worked as a nanny for many years and was also employed at Riley's Shoe Store, the Mill End Store and Shoemaker's Dime Store. She was an active member of the St. John Lutheran Church and held various offices in the Ladies Aid. Margaret was preceded in death by her parents and one son, Malcolm. Survivors include her loving husband of 73 years, a granddaughter, Kathy Ann of Whitehall, OH and her daughter in law, Paula LeDuc of Hope. Also surviving are seven brothers and sisters in law; Alton (Alice) of West Branch, Ray of Ann Arbor, Melvin of Lapeer, Madelyn Kennedy of Livonia, Shirley Clough of Grayling, Natelle (Dave Gross) of Coleman and Donna (Sam Hutchings) of Leonard. A Memorial Service will be held at 12:00 p.m. on Friday, May 11, 2007 at St. John Lutheran Church in West Branch. Memorial Contributions may be made to the St. John Building Fund.
