Merval (Harvey) Atkinson

Merval Harvey Atkinson (nee Shiplett), age 91 of West Branch, formerly of Glennie, passed away Sunday, July 17, 2011 at the West Branch Regional Medical Center. Merval had lived in West Branch at "The Brook", since 2008. She served in the Army as a WAC, and was a member of the American Legion. Merval is survived by her brother, Ralph (Kathleen) Shiplett of DeTour Village, and many loving nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her first husband, Kenneth Harvey in 1991, her second husband Ernest Atkinson, her sisters Marion Vendt, Maxine Tinsler, and her brother, Raymond Shiplett. Visitation at the Steuernol & McLaren Funeral Home in West Branch will begin on Thursday, July 21, 2011, from 2-6 pm. Funeral services will be held at 10 am Friday at the funeral home. Pastor Dan Stoneback will officiate with burial following.
