Michael Joseph Lahar Ii

Michael Joseph Lahar II, age 14, passed away unexpectedly on Monday, March 18, 2019 in Rose City. He was born on June 15, 2004 in Lapeer to Michael and Jessica (Lucas) Lahar. Michael lived in St. Helen and West Branch all of his life. He was a freshman at Ogemaw Heights High School and was on the football and wrestling teams. He enjoyed riding dirt bikes and trail riding. Michael loved the woods, hunting, music and family functions.

Michael is survived by his parents, Michael and Jessica Lahar of St. Helen; sisters, McKenzie and Madisyn of St. Helen; grandparents, Shelly Lahar of Higgins Lake, Jim (Sue Kurtz) Lucas of West Branch and Lisa (Charlie Zimmer) Glander of Rose City; uncles and aunts, Josh (Charlotte) Lucas of West Branch, Jamie (John Szkubiel) Lucas of West Branch, Jacie (Matt Peterson) Lucas of West Branch, Jorie Lucas of West Branch, George (JoAnn) Lahar IV of Birch Run, Victoria (Dale) Flanagin of Clio, Brian Lahar of St. Helen, and Josh Lapworth of Higgins Lake; special aunt, Ellen Lahar of St. Helen; special uncle, Kyle Klug of FL; cousins, Bryce, Johnny, Laeten, Marlee, Aaven, Camden, Axton, Lila, Carson, Johnny, Vincent, Dale, Marissa, George V, and Evan. He is preceded in death by his grandpa, “Papa George”, great grandma, Jean Lucas, grandpa, David Lee Glander and great grandpa, Don Lucas.

Visitation at Steuernol & McLaren Funeral Home in West Branch will begin on Thursday, March 21, 2019 from 3:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. The funeral service will be held on Friday, March 22, 2019 at Faith Alive Church in West Branch at 10:00 a.m. with visitation starting at 9:00 a.m. Pastor Jeff Westheim will officiate.
