Myrtle Joyce Kern

Myrtle “Joyce” Kern, age 87 of St. Helen, passed away Wednesday, October 7, 2009 at her home. Joyce was a member of Hope Lutheran Church. She loved her children and her church. Survivors include her stepchildren, Norma Goia of Rochester Hills, Charlotte (Joseph) Ollie of Clarkston and Dale (Suzanne) Kern of Oklahoma, grandchildren, Vicki, Amanda, David, Anne, Scott and Sarah and 3 great-grandchildren. Also surviving is her sister Maxine Wilson of St. Helen, brother in law, Harry Seeger of St. Helen and her care givers, Ronald and Phyllis Tommas also of St. Helen and many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her husband, Luther Kern, her parents Williams and Albertha Thompson and her siblings, Ralph, Althea and Betty. Visitation at the Steuernol & McLaren Funeral Home in St. Helen will begin on Friday, October 9, 2009 from 2-8 p.m. The Funeral Service will be held at 11:00 a.m. Saturday at Hope Lutheran Church in St. Helen. Rev. Rodney Morrison will officiate with burial following at Fairview Cemetery, St. Helen. Memorial Contributions may be made to Hope Lutheran Church.
