P. Edward Bardsley

P. Edward "Ned" Bardsley, age 100 of Anderson Indiana, departed this life on December 14, 2004 at St. John's Medical Center in Indiana. He was born in Fall River MA and was preceded in death by his parents, Jane and Ellis, brothers Ellis and Everett. He is survived by his wife of 64 years Ailene, daughter Jane (Gene) Hutchins of West Branch MI, son Dr. William T. (Heidi) Bardsley of Rochester MN, grandchildren--Julie and James Budden, Kiri and Ned Bardsley. He is also survived by his devoted friend Bob (Joan) Land. Ned worked his way through Norwich University in Northfield VT and received his BS in electrical engineering. He began his respected career with General Motors and Delco-Remy as a student engineer in Detroit. He and Ailene met in Detroit and married, then moved to Anderson in 1942. He became General Sales Manager and retired from Delco-Remy in 1969 after 43 years of service. Ned's primary focus was always with his family. He enjoyed taking them snow skiing until he was 86 and spending time with them at Clear Lake. He enjoyed Saturday morning French classes at Anderson University, working on his personal computer, photography, and taking flying lessons in his 80's. A Mass of Christian Burial was conducted at St. Mary's Church in Anderson on December 17, 2004. A Graveside Service will be held at Brookside Cemetery, West Branch. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests the charity of your choice.
