Patrick Ryan Wren

Patrick Ryan Wren, age 39, passed away unexpectedly on Monday, July 26, 2021 at his home in West Branch, MI. He was born on July 20, 1982 in Ypsilanti, MI to Charles and Patricia (Johnson) Wren.

Patrick loved spending time with family and enjoyed playing and laughing with his nieces and nephews. He loved animals, being outdoors, and was a very caring person. Patrick loved to laugh, joke, and smile; his smile could light up a room. He was also an athlete and an artist. He enjoyed playing numerous sports, but his passion was soccer. He also had an excellent talent for sketching and creating beautiful drawings. Patrick’s creativity did not end there. He was also in the process of writing his first book with the hope of bringing awareness and shedding light on his experiences with a variety of individuals dealing with addiction, homelessness and poverty.

Patrick is survived by his parents, Chuck and Patricia Wren of Prescott; siblings, C.J. (Isabella) Wren of Pensacola, FL, Bradley (Nicole) Wren of Prescott, Marissa (Russ) Gauthier of Travers City, and Colleen (Weston) Buchan of Traverse City; nieces and nephews, Kenna, Avery, Everett, and Jack; aunts and uncles, Tom and Becky Johnson of Milan, Susie and Bob Marsh of Traverse City, and Bill and Lori Johnson of Prescott; and many cousins.

Patrick is preceded in death by his grandparents, Bill and Rosemary Johnson and Mary and Howard Fraser; aunt, Kathleen Williams; uncle, Jim Williams; and cousin, Sean Johnson.

Visitation will be held at Steuernol & McLaren Funeral Home in West Branch on Tuesday, August 3, 2021 from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. The funeral mass will be held at St. Joseph Catholic Church on Wednesday, August 4, 2021 at 11:00 a.m. with visitation starting at 10:00 a.m. Father Emmanuel Finbarr will officiate.
