Reid Jacob Jones

Reid Jacob Jones, age 14, passed away on Monday, March 12, 2018 at Covenant Hospital in Saginaw, MI. He was born in West Branch, MI on May 2, 2003 to Jay Jones and Laurie Beck. Reid has lived in West Branch his entire life. He was a freshman at Ogemaw Heights High School and belonged to the FFA and 4-H. Reid attended St. Joseph Catholic School from Kindergarten to 8th grade and he worked at Clemens Dairy Farm for just over a year. He played basketball for St. Joseph Catholic School, baseball for the West Branch Little League, and soccer for AYSO. Reid enjoyed riding his dirt bike and 4 wheeler, hunting, shooting his bow and loved his dogs, Hank, Remi and Chopper. He was a jokester and had a big heart.

Reid is survived by his mother, Laurie (Jennifer Strochine) Beck of West Branch; father, Jay (Lori) Jones of Cedar Springs, MI; sisters, Courtney and Arionna; grandmother, Roberta Beck of West Branch; grandparents, Thom and Darlene Jones of West Branch; aunts and uncles, Mark (Kendra) Beck of West Branch, Chad (Lori) Beck of West Branch, Grace (Loren) Caverly of Hale, Katie (Joe) Weber of West Branch, Thom (Danielle) Jones of Kentucky, and Teri (Brian) Libs of Ann Arbor; great grandma, Velma Howell of FL; godparents, aunt Katie Weber and great uncle Mark Reid; many cousins and much extended family. He is preceded in death by his grandpa, Richard Beck and great grandparents.

Visitation at Steuernol & McLaren Funeral Home in West Branch will begin on Thursday, March 15, 2018 from 2:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. The Funeral Mass will be at St. Joseph Catholic Church on Friday, March 16, 2018 at 11:00 a.m. with visitation starting at 10:00 a.m. Burial will follow at St. Joseph Catholic Cemetery. Father Patrick Maher will officiate.
