Richard Joseph Santowski

Richard Joseph Santowski, age 91, passed away on Friday, February 25, 2022 at the Horizon Senior Living in West Branch, MI. He was born on July 15, 1930 in Hamtramck, MI to John and Cecilia (Dombrowski) Santowski.

Richard married Rosalie Okon on June 9, 1951 in Detroit, MI.

Richard lived in West Branch since 1979 formerly of Warren, MI. He served in the United States Navy from 1948-1949 and was a member of the St. Joseph Catholic Church, Optimist Club, and the Knights of Columbus Council #2022. He was the past owner of the Welcome Motel in West Branch. Richard enjoyed morning coffee with the guys and socializing. He was always making friends and had a gift to gab.

Richard is survived by daughters, Ann Marie (Tom) Kreft of Laingsburg, MI and Suzanne (Joseph) Pococke of Shepherd, MI; son, David (Barbara) Santowski of St. Clair Shores, MI; and 7 grandchildren and 10 great grandchildren.

He is preceded in death by his parents and wife, Rosalie.

Visitation at Steuernol & McLaren Funeral Home in West Branch will begin on Friday, March 4, 2022 from 3:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. with a rosary at 7:00 p.m. The funeral mass with military honors will be held at St. Joseph Catholic Church in West Branch on Saturday, March 5, 2022 at 11:00 a.m. with visitation starting at 10:00 a.m. Father Emmanuel Finbarr will officiate. Burial will follow at St. Joseph Catholic Cemetery in West Branch.
