Robert G. Schmitt

Robert G. Schmitt, age 57, passed away Sunday, May 14, 2006 at his home. He had lived in West Branch for all of his life. He was a life time member of the NRA, a member of the North American Hunting Club, the Farm Bureau and Holy Family Catholic Church. He loved to hunt, fish and collect Allis Chalmer tractors. Bob is survived by his wife, Gloria (Wangler) Schmitt of West Branch, his son Tony (Jennie) Schmitt of West Branch and grandchildren, Kyler and Karter. Also surviving are his brothers, Ronald (Joyce) Schmitt and Jerry (Jeanette) Schmitt, his sisters, Alice Bragg, Betty (Charlie) Rau and Mary (Albert) Miles all of West Branch. He was preceded in death by a daughter, Melinda, his parents, John and Ethel (Brick), sister, Aleen DeRosa and brother, Dean Schmitt. Visitation at the Steuernol & McLaren Funeral Home in West Branch will begin on Wednesday, May 17, 2006 from 12-9 p.m. There will be a Scripture Service at 7:30 p.m. The Funeral Mass will be celebrated at 11:00 a.m. on Thursday, May 18, 2006 at Holy Family Catholic Church. Fr. Miro D. Wiese will officiate with burial following at St. Joseph Cemetery in West Branch. Memorial Contributions may be made to the Robert Schmitt Memorial Fund.
