Rodney Bruce Oliver, age 58, passed away on Wednesday, February 26, 2020 at his home in West Branch, MI with his family by his side. He was born on September 12, 1961 in Flint, MI to Max and Margaret (Realy) Oliver. Rodney lived with his family in West Branch, MI for the past 5 years, formerly of Flint. He graduated from Kearsley High School in Flint in 1979 and married Sue Stovey on May 24, 1990 in Davison, MI. Rodney worked in the auto service and commercial truck tire services. He participated in Figure 8 demo derby races for over 30 years and owned and operated Rod’s Tire Service in Flint, MI for over 15 years. He retired and sold the business to family, keeping it locally owned, and moved to West Branch, MI to the family centennial farm. Rodney currently worked for Mid Michigan Asphalt in West Branch, MI. He enjoyed building RAT rods, was an avid hunter, watching deer, picking vintage items and spending time with family and friends.

Rodney is survived by his loving wife, Sue Oliver of West Branch, MI; son, Joshua (Shelby) Oliver of Corunna; daughters, Ashley Oliver of IN and Annie Oliver of West Branch, MI; grandchildren, Jaylee Oliver and Hudson Max Oliver; siblings, Debbie (Greg) Dubbs of Mt. Morris, Becky (Dave) Braden of Corunna, Chris (Tom) Liles of Rochester Hills, and Larry (Alice) Oliver of Clio; and several aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins, and many special friends. He is preceded in death by his parents.

Cremation has taken place.

******UPDATE.....the Memorial Service has been canceled but will be rescheduled for a date in the spring. ****** A Memorial Service will be held on Sunday, March 22, 2020 at the Edwards Township Hall at 1:00 p.m. with visitation continuing after the service until 5:00 p.m. Pastor Jon Scott will officiate.

Memorial Contributions can be made to the Edwards Community Church or Special Olympics Michigan Area 4 - Ogemaw County on Facebook.
