Roy A. Kenworthy

Roy A. Kenworthy, age 84 of West Branch, passed away Monday, October 11, 2010 at Bortz Health Care in Rose City. Roy had lived in the West Branch area for most of his retired life. He was a member of Holy Family Catholic Church and the K of C #8948. He retired from Buick Motors on January 1, 1980 after 30 years of service. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, woodworking and gardening. Roy is survived by his wife, Illa of West Branch, children, Dan (Diana) Kenworthy of Lapeer, Mary Ann (Gene) Romel of East Lansing, Dale (Alice) Kenworthy of Huntington, IN, Robert (Anita) Kenworthy of Clio, Diane (Jim) Williams of South Lyon and James (Nid) Kenworthy of Mesa, AZ, 12 grandchildren and 12 great-grandchildren. Also surviving is his brother, George (Yvonne) Kenworthy of West Branch and Jim (Delores) Kenworthy of Kennewick, WA. He was preceded in death by his brothers, Charles, Eugene and John and his sister, Dorothy Swinehart. Visitation at the Steuernol & McLaren Funeral Home in West Branch will begin on Thursday, October 14, 2010 from 2-9 p.m. with a Scripture Service at 7:00 p.m. Roy will lie in state on Friday at Holy Family Catholic Church at 11:00 a.m. until the Celebration of Life begins at 12:00 p.m. Fr. Patrick Maher will officiate with burial following at Holy Family Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, the family requests contributions be made to start a fund for funeral dinners for parishoners of Holy Family Parish.
