Ruth D. Basham

March 8, 1913 — October 8, 2003

Mrs. Basham, age 90, passed away at Medilodge in Howell, MI. She was a member of the First United Methodist Church and past member of the Eastern Star, both of West Branch. She played the organ for the Episcopal, Lutheran and Methodist churches and taught piano in the West Branch area for many years. Mrs. Basham is survived by her children, Geraldine (Ron) Falkner of Howell, Patty Sue (Jack) Underhill of Green Valley, AZ. and Austin Basham of Alger, 10 grandchildren, 23 great-grandchildren and 1 great-great granddaughter. Also surviving is her brother Tom (Irene) Newsham of Bay City and her sisters, Leona (Bill) Brandmair of Bay City and Shirley (John) Sermon of Essexville, her brother in law, Erston Butterfield of Pleasant Hill, TN., and sister in law Shirley Newsham of Bay City, many nieces and nephews and many friends. She was preceded in death by her husband Gerald Basham, grandson, Gerald "Jerry" Basham, brothers, Albert Robetoy, Bill Newsham and Ed Weiser and sisters, Margarite Sweeney and Isabel Butterfield. The Visitation at the Steuernol & McLaren Funeral Home in West Branch will begin on Saturday October 11, 2003 from 2-9 P.M. The Funeral Service will be held at 1:30 P.M. Sunday at the First United Methodist Church in West Branch. Rev. Mark Miller will officiate. Burial will be at Brookside Cemetery, West Branch.
