Ruth Ellen Bunting

Ruth Ellen (Rose) Bunting, age 93, passed away on Tuesday, April 9, 2019 at the Spring Arbor Assisted Living in Spring Arbor, MI. She lived in West Branch since 1948, after moving from Black, IL. Ruth was born to Ruben and Nellie (Royer) Rose on September 26, 1925 in Mt. Carmel, IL. On February 3, 1946 she married Melbourne “Barney” Bunting in Mt. Carmel, IL. Ruth was a member of the Ogemaw Hills Free Methodist Church since 1948 where she served as a Sunday school teacher, was on the pastor’s cabinet, conference delegate and youth director. She enjoyed crocheting, ceramics, riding mopeds, puzzles, and wintering in Florida.

Ruth is survived by her children, Butch (Janet Kingsley) Bunting of Parma, MI and Barry (Ida Stillwagon) Bunting of Asheville, NC; grandchildren, Kathlene, Kari, Kasey, Katie, Kelli, and Shari; great grandchildren, Cody, Brittany, Josh, Darci, Dena, Alexis, Makiala, Mariah, Marissa, Serenity, Grace, Mike, Chad, Skie, Mickeala, Emma, Laura, and Eagen; and great great grandchildren, Nova, Vaida, Mason, Theodore, Beau, Ryder and Leo. She is preceded in death by her parents, husband, Barney and siblings, Richard, Harry, Velma and Max.

Visitation at Ogemaw Hills Free Methodist Church will begin on Saturday, April 13, 2019 at 9:00 a.m. until the time of the funeral service at 11:00 a.m., immediately followed by lunch provided at the church. Burial will be at Edwards Township Cemetery at 2:00 p.m. Pastor Charles Husted will officiate.
