Shirley June Williams

September 24, 1929 — December 20, 2017

Shirley June Williams, age 88, passed away on Wednesday, December 20, 2017 at West Branch Regional Medical Center. Shirley was born on September 24, 1929 in Lincoln Park to Everett and Lavina (Simpson) Cann. Shirley worked at Security Bank and Trust as a loan officer for 31 years. In 1990, Shirley retired from the bank and moved to Gladwin next door to her family where she worked for her son at Williams Builders for 21 years. She attended Faith Alive Church with her family and enjoyed attending the weekly services at The Brook. She was an usher at the Dow Event Center for many years and belonged to an exercise group that swam at Sugar Springs. Shirley enjoyed reading, crafts, cross stitching and traveling the world. She was very close with her grandchildren and her six great grandchildren. She loved them dearly.

Shirley is survived by her son, Robert (Kathy) Williams of Gladwin; grandchildren, Megan (Lee) Heintz and Travis (Bridget) Williams all of Gladwin; great grandchildren, Isaac, Ayden, Gavin, Hadassah, Emersyn and Barrett; sister, Merretta Giertz of South Gate, MI; brothers, Jim (Chris) Cann of FL and Evert (Luann) Cann of Gladwin; and close friends, Cece Robinson and Bonnie Anderson. She was preceded in death by her parents and great grandson, Levi Heintz.

Burial will be at Ridge Cemetery in Gladwin, MI.
