Sidney W. Stephens

Sidney W. Stephens, age 69 of West Branch, passed away Tuesday, February 3, 2009 at his home. Sidney was born December 17, 1939 in Manistique, MI. He had lived in West Branch since 2003, formerly of Whitmore Lake. Sidney earned a Good Conduct Medal while serving as a Corporal in the Marine Corps. He was also a member of the Rod & Gun Club. Sidney enjoyed playing Santa Claus, hunting, fishing and was an avid outdoorsman. Sidney is survived by daughter, Laurie (Danny) Blasch of West Branch, daughter, Dawn (Mark) Skowronek of West Branch, son, Charles (Lynne) Stephens of West Branch, son, Sean (Cathy) Holt of Kernersville, NC, daughter, Tammy (Anthony) Pacione of West Branch, 7 grandchildren, Carrie, Tyler, Amanda, Daniel, Anthony, Andy, Mikey, Lexxie (Salamander), 3 sisters, Patricia (Gene) Sunderman of Eaton Rapids, Emily Pulone of Seal Beach, CA, Marie (Dutch) Castle of CA and many nieces and nephews. A Memorial Service will be held at the Steuernol & McLaren Funeral Home in West Branch on Monday, February 16, 2009 at 3:00 PM with the family receiving friends prior from 1:00 PM until time of service. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to Hospice of Helping Hands.
