Stanley Frederick Rader

Stanley Frederick Rader, age 68, passed away at his home in St. Helen, MI on Thursday, October 8, 2015 after a short battle with cancer. He was born to Frederick and Anna (Hubble) Rader in Goodrich, MI on December 16, 1946. Stan had lived in St. Helen since 1999, formerly from Clarkston, MI. He retired from GM Truck and Bus after 33 years. He also worked at the Pontiac Silverdome for 10 years, Specialized Pharmacy, Richfield Township as a Trustee, and Helping Hands as a member of the West Branch Eagles. During his membership at the Eagles, he was the treasurer, helped doing poker and euchre night, and burger night.

Stan loved his birds, cats, dogs, and his grandson, Connor Denison and all other grandkids dearly. He enjoyed going hunting, fishing and life in general. He was always helping others out every chance he could. Stan also enjoyed taking trips to VA to visit friends and being outdoors.

Stan is survived by his loving wife of 2 years, Rose Rader of St. Helen; children, Leland Erdman, Melissa (Shane) Bennett, Sharon (Robert) Dowd, Christopher Francis, and April Denison; 21 grandchildren and 11 great grandchildren. He is a God Father to 2 girls and has many nieces and nephews. Stan is preceded in death by his parents, Frederick and Anna “Pauline” Rader; daughter, Anna Rader; grandson, Shawn Collard; granddaughter, Kayla Miller; sister, June Larange; and brother, Norman Rader.

Visitation at the Steuernol & McLaren Funeral Home in St. Helen, MI will begin on Saturday, October 10, 2015 from 3:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m. and 7:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. The Funeral Service will be held at the funeral home on Sunday, October 11, 2015 at 2:00 p.m. with visitation starting at 1:00 p.m. Burial will follow the service at Fairview Cemetery. Pastor Ken Peterson will officiate.
