Ted L. Wend

Ted L. Wend, age 77, passed away peacefully on Friday, September 27, 2019 at his home in Rose City with his family by his side. He was born on March 20, 1942 in Saginaw, MI to Louis and Marjorie (Dishaw) Wend. Ted had lived in Rose City with his wife since 1967. He married Linda Card on November 4, 1967 in Rose City, MI. Ted as a US Navy veteran serving from 1960-1968. He was very proud of his country and always flew the US flag, and had a huge eagle collection. Ted was very active in the Community, and his church the Trinity United Methodist Church. He was part of the Community Players for over 10 years, and also part of the Jaycees. He served on the Rose City fire department for 12 years and was an EMT for 21 years. He enjoyed boating, old cars, shooting, UofM football, and was a member of the NRA. Ted also enjoyed racing, and helped for several years at the Lupton Raceway Drags. But most of all Ted enjoyed spending time with his family, going on trips with his wife, BBQ cookouts, and the precious time with his grand and great grandchildren. Ted will be missed by so many, always joking with and making people laugh.

Ted is survived by the love of his life, Linda Wend of Rose City; daughter, Dawn (Bruce) Kearns of Rose City; son, David (Nicole) Wend of Rose City; His five grandchildren, Katie Wend, Keith Kearns, Charles Wend, Megan Wend, Abigail Wend, and one great grandson, Aiden Wend. Also surviving is his sister, Diane (Mark) Perze of Huston, TX; and brother, Dwayne Wend of Rose City. His is preceded in death by his parents, sister Kathy (Al) Lauwers, and sister-in-law, Debbie Wend.

Visitation at Steuernol & McLaren Funeral Home in Rose City will begin Sunday, September 29, 2019 with visitation from 1-9PM. The funeral service will be at the funeral home on Monday, September 30, 2019 at 11:00AM. Pastor Helen will officiate with burial following at the Lane Heights Cemetery in Lupton, MI with full military honors.
