Teresa Lynn Dale

Teresa “Terry” Dale was born on March 1, 1955, in Milbury, Ohio. She was a fantastic woman who was loved dearly and deeply by everyone. She was many things to many people: a mom, a grandma, a sister, a foreman, a Toledo Trooper, ‘Mother Teresa’, and a savior to the many animals she took in over the years. She led a hard life and now she is in peace and no longer in pain, passing on November 28, 2022 “Up North” in West Branch.

Terry was a long-term resident of the Toledo area, moving to West Branch, Michigan in 2020.

Terry was part of the start of the beloved Toledo Troopers. She was #24 and was part of the team from 1971 - 1973 as a flanker, halfback, fullback, wide receiver, and her favorite position - linebacker. Her interviews played a vital role in making the documentary and book following the team's history.

She was hired at SOHIO, now the BP Toledo Refinery, on December 5, 1983, retiring on December 31, 2013. She was a beloved coworker and was described as a “mother to all”. She was referred to as “Mother Teresa” by many.

Terry proudly showed the love she had for her pets, especially her dogs Gidgit, Gigi, and Gem, and all of the cats she rescued over the years. She was an avid animal lover and stopped at nothing to help an animal in need.

Surviving her is daughter Ashley (Michael) and grandchild Briar, brothers John and Michael (Karen) Dale, as well as many nieces and nephews. She is preceded in death by her parents Henry Dale and Shirley (Carlton) Cookson, and sisters Susan, Sandy, and MaryAnn.

A celebration of life will be held at Freck Funeral Chapel in Oregon, Ohio on December 18th, 2022 from 11 am - 2 pm. The public is welcome.
