Thomas A. Rosebrugh

Thomas A. Rosebrugh, age 62 of West Branch, passed away suddenly as a result of a forestry accident Wednesday May 25, 2011. Tom was born to Charles and Mildred Rosebrugh, a lifelong Ogemaw County farming family. He was involved in agriculture, forestry and racing for all of his life. Tom was a member of the Timbermen’s Association and was president and owner/operator of TR Timber Company for 45 years. Tom began racing cars before he could legally drive himself to the track. His successful racing career included championships in Michigan, Ohio and Florida. He raced at the American Legion Speedway in West Branch, Whittemore, Standish, Merritt, Tri-City, Auto City Speedways, and many other race tracks. His hobbies outside of farming, racing and forestry included spending time with his grandchildren, riding his Harley, trips in the motor home, spending time in Florida and he had a great interest in flying. Tom will be remembered as a simple man that defined success as using the fewest resources to receive the maximum productivity. Tom is survived by his wife Debbie, children; Tony (Becky) Rosebrugh, Todd Rosebrugh (Stacey Kartes), Wendy (Bill) Tuttle, Troy (Pam) Brindley, Eric “Sore Toe” Brindley, Jessica (Kevin) Zettle, grandchildren; Devon, Megan, Britney, Kylie, Chase, Mr. Pete, Janelle, Kelby, Hayden, Britney, Mariah, Allison, Juliann, Breann, Landen“Tommy”, and Lillyann. Also surviving is his sister, Judy (Bill) Bedtelyon, nieces and nephews, Kim (Mike) Mantijo, Bruce (Monica) Bedtelyon, Richie (Loretta), Aaron and Ashley Rosebrugh, his mother-in-law Florine Antcliff, sister-in-law Shirley Rosebrugh, his brothers-in-law Monty (Jeannie) Antcliff and Todd Antcliff. He was preceded in death by his brother Dick Rosebrugh and his parents Charles and Mildred Rosebrugh and his special dog “Bandit”. Visitation at the Steuernol & McLaren Funeral Home in West Branch will begin on Friday May 27, 2011 from 10:00 a.m. to 9:00 p.m. On Saturday, visitation will begin at 9:00 a.m. until the time of the service at 3:30 p.m. Rev. Ronald Cook will officiate with burial following at Selkirk Cemetery. Memorial Contributions may be made to the Ogemaw County Humane Society or to a Scholarship Fund the family will create for future race car drivers.
