Tonya Sue Solarz

Tonya Solarz, 56, of Fenton MI, departed peacefully from this world to return home to God's embrace during the evening of December 13, 2015. She was surrounded by her closest family and beloved animals. Tonya was born in Flint, MI on January 5, 1959.

"The Earth is full of the goodness of the Lord" (Psalm 33:5). Tonya was a reflection of this goodness and made an impact on the world through her great passion as a registered nurse for 30 years, as well as her ongoing compassionate work with animal rehabilitation though the Livingston County Humane Society.

Within her years of service in the name of the Lord she touched countless lives, many of which she brought and welcomed into the world as an OB nurse. These lives she touched in the name of Jesus Christ in turn touched her life and made her stronger.

Tonya is survived by her husband, Matthew Solarz; two sons and daughters-in-law, Chauncey and Julie Wolbert, and Cyril (Ben) and Angela Wolbert; grandchildren, Justice, Landon, Linken, Lexxie, Michaela, Ella Brynn, and Willow. She is also survived by cousins, Becky and Dave Dockery, Bubby and Jeanie Steinley, and uncle, Larry Steinley. She was preceded in death by her mother, Susan Laviolette, brothers, Terry Threet and Mark Laviolette, her aunt, Linda Steinley, and cousin, Todd Steinley. Tonya will be deeply missed by her family, friends, patients, and animals.

Visitation at Steuernol & McLaren Funeral Home in Rose City, MI will begin on Thursday, December 17, 2015 at 10:30 a.m. until the time of the funeral service at 2:00 p.m. Burial will follow at Lane Heights Cemetery in Lupton, MI.

A special thank you to Sharon Hawkins, a neighbor and friend to Tonya for over 30 years. You gave her humor and happiness in her final months, weeks, and days.
