Wayne Douglas Gould

Wayne D. Gould age 73, of Lupton passed away suddenly on Wednesday, November 23,2022, at McLaren Bay Region in West Branch, MI. Wayne was born on February 1, 1949, in West Winfield, NY to Kendrick and Erma (Zimmerman) Gould.

Wayne served in the United States Air Force right after graduating high school. He was a firefighter in the service during Vietnam and retired in 1988 after 20 years of service. After his retirement from the Air Force, he worked at the West Branch Automotive and Rose City Automotive for 22 years. He enjoyed taking care of his yard and the orchard. Anyone that knew him would say “there’s Wayne again cutting his grass.” He enjoyed cutting and stacking is pristine wood piles. He loved going to the races every Saturday in the summers with his family.

Wayne is survived by his children, daughter Shannon (Trever) Mehl of Freeland, daughter Jody (Dave) Bowen of Sterling, son Douglas Blood of Lupton; 10 grandchildren; brother Mike (Carol) Gould of New York, sister Patricia (Andy) Miller of New York; in laws Susan Maddox of Texas, Russell (Gloria) Oyster of Rose City, Jean Card of Rose City, Joseph Oyster of Lupton, Linda (John) Pruett of Texas, and Rhonda Oyster of Oklahoma; and many nieces and nephews and dear friends.

He was preceded in death by his wife of 37 years Joyce Gould; his father Kendrick Gould and his mother Erma Gould; brother Ronald Gould, brother Dave Gould; his in laws Lloyd and Marjorie Oyster and other brothers in law and sisters in law.

Visitation at Steuernol & McLaren Funeral Home in Rose City will begin on Thursday, December 1, 2022, from 5:00 pm to 8:00 p.m. and on Friday, December 2, 2022, from 10:00 am to 11:00 am. Burial at Lane Heights Cemetery with veteran honors will be held on Friday, December 2, 2022, at 11:30 a.m.
