William J. Haarz

Mr. Haarz, age 89 of Grosse Pointe Woods, passed away suddenly Saturday May 15, 2004 at his daughter's home in West Branch. He had been a resident of Grosse Pointe Woods for all of his life. He was a Capain in the U.S. Army Reserve after serving in Europe during WWII. He was a member of the Lochmoor Country Club, the Grosse Pointe Senior Men's Club and the Grosse Pointe Woods Presbyterian Church. He spent his lifetime in the automotive industry and enjoyed golf, playing bridge and helping people in their time of need. Mr. Haarz is survived by his wife Betty Haarz of Grosse Pointe Woods, children--Liz (Jack) Petersen of West Branch and Bill (Patti0 Haarz of Grosse Pointe Farms, grandchildren--Sara, Jon, Anne, Kelli, Peter and Max, 3 great-grandchildren and many cousins and close friends.
