William Peter Jennings Jr.

William Jennings Jr, 62, passed away at his home in West Branch on October 13, 2017.
Bill was born on August 11, 1955 to William and Helen Jennings and was a lifelong resident of West Branch. He graduated from Ogemaw Heights High School in 1973, then attended Alma College and Duke University Law School before returning home to practice law and raise his family.

Bill had a deep affection for and took great pride in his community. He displayed his devotion through his involvement in numerous organizations including; the Board of the West Branch District Library, Kiwanis Club, the North Central Michigan Community Foundation, the West Branch Regional Medical Center Board of Trustees, the Tolfree Foundation and the Board of the Medical Arts Center.

A couple of Bill's favorite pastimes were coaching his children in various youth sports and attending concerts with his wife. When he found free time he was an avid golfer, skier, Spartan fan and doting dog owner.

Bill is survived by his wife, Susan Jennings of West Branch, children, Peter Jennings of Lansing, Sarah Jennings of Mt. Pleasant, Alexander Jennings of West Branch, mother, Helen (Hasty) Jennings of West Branch, brothers, James (Jenny) Jennings of Minneapolis, MN, Pete (Martha) Jennings of Tokyo, Japan, and Chis (Kathy) Jennings of Boise, ID. Also surviving are brothers-in-law, Albert (Kathleen) Stohrer of Columbus, OH, Frederick (LuAnn) Stohrer of Atlanta, GA, and several nieces and nephews. He is preceded in death by his father, William Jennings, Sr.

A Celebration of Life Service will be held at First United Methodist Church on Tuesday, October 17, 2017 at 1:00 PM. Family will receive friends from 11:00 AM until time of service. Rev. Tim Dibble will officiate.

In lieu of flowers donations may be made to West Branch Public Library or Ogemaw County Humane Society.
