Betty J. Egan, age 85 of South Branch, MI passed away on Monday, July 24, 2017 at home. She had lived in South Branch for the past 25+ years, formerly of Saginaw, MI. Betty was born on February 27, 1932 in Mobridge, South Dakota and moved to Michigan at a young age.
She was a member of the Women’s Auxiliary of VFW Post #7435 in Hale, MI. Betty loved to cook and was always available to lend a hand for a wedding, anniversary or birthday party. She was involved in scouting and was a scout leader for 20 years.
Betty is preceded in death by her husband of 56 years, Frank “Bill” Egan of South Branch whom she married on February 21, 1953; son, James Egan of South Branch; sisters, Elsie Karl and Lydia Jones; and brother, Art Schaffer. Survivors include children, Dick (Cheryl) Egan and Bo (Chris) Egan both of Rose City, and Tom (Cyndi) Egan of West Branch; grandchildren, David, Ashley, Jason, Miranda, Alissa, Rebecca, Christopher and Kim; great grandchildren, Ella, Ashlynne and Logan; and numerous nieces and nephews.
Visitation at Steuernol & McLaren Funeral Home in Rose City will begin on Thursday, July 27, 2017 from 4:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. The funeral service will be at the funeral home on Friday, July 28, 2017 at 12:00 p.m. with visitation starting at 11:00a.m. Burial will follow at Oak Grove Cemetery in South Branch.
