Betty Jo Knight

Betty Jo Knight, of Saint Helen, Michigan, passed away on August 9, 2026, at the age of 83.

Born on November 3, 1942, in Forrest City, Arkansas, she built a long and successful career as a real estate agent with Century 21 in Michigan, known for her professionalism and dedication to her clients.

She enjoyed sewing for her children when they were young, as well as gardening and cooking. She took pride in her home and her family.

She is survived by her spouse of 64 years, Joe Judson Knight and their daughters: Debra Jeffrey (Steven) of Livingston, Texas; Katherine Kerr (Edwin) of Saint Helen, Michigan; Carol Knight of Eastpointe, Michigan; and Deanna Knight of West Columbia, South Carolina.

She is also survived by her sisters: Mary Rust (Dave) of Phoenix Arizona, Gladys Freeman (Mike) of Hazel Park, Michigan; Nancy Burridge (Ken) of Tampa, Florida; and Sharon Lukemire (Donald) of Sterling Heights, Michigan.

She leaves behind 15 grandchildren, 17 great‑grandchildren and many nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her son Joe Jason Knight, her son in law Edwin Kerr, her parents, Andrew and Mary James, her brothers Andrew James, Sam James, John James, and her sister Clara Phoenix.

A Memorial to celebrate her life will be held at a later date.

She will be deeply missed.
