Calvin Robert Marshall

January 16, 1955 — April 23, 2025

Lupton, MI

Calvin Robert Marshall, a beloved husband, father, grandfather, brother, and friend, was born on January 16, 1955, in West Branch, Michigan. He passed away peacefully on Wednesday, April 23, 2025, in Saginaw, Michigan at the age of 70, leaving behind a legacy of love and commitment to both his family and his passion for farming.

He married Barbara Ide on June 8, 1974, and just celebrated 50 years of marriage.

Calvin's spirit was deeply intertwined with the land he loved so dearly. His passion for farming was not just a career, but a way of life that connected him to the earth and instilled values of hard work and perseverance in his family. He cherished milking cows, seasons spent cultivating crops, and the quiet moments in the fields were where he found solace. When Calvin and Barb bought the farm in Lupton, MI, he started milking 5 cows and farming 80 acres of land. As of today, they milk over 650 cows and farm 1100 acres. Calvin was a very driven and goal orientated man.

Calvin enjoyed fishing, family hunting trips, and spending time with his family and close friends.

Calvin devoted his life to his family, embodying the spirit of dedication and perseverance in everything he did. He is survived by his cherished wife, Barbara Marshall, whose partnership brought him immense joy. Together, they nurtured a family that reflected their shared values and love. Calvin's sons, Kris (Nicole Wangler) Marshall and Klint (Marie) Marshall, were not only his pride and joy but also his constant companions in the joys of life. His grandchildren—Lyddia (Brady Zettle) Marshall, Calvin Marshall, and Carolyn Marshall—were the light of his life.

The depth of Calvin's character shone through in his relationships with others. He was a dedicated brother to Cindy (Bob) Trout, Kenny (Cheryl Forro) Marshall, and Tom (Debbie) Marshall, who will carry his memory with them always. His warmth and kindness touched the hearts of many, leaving an indelible mark on the lives of his numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins.

Calvin was predeceased by his beloved parents, Bob and Pat (Trout) Marshall.
