Cheryl Lynn Hull, age 78, passed away on Thursday, September 4, 2025, in West Branch, Michigan. Born on Tuesday, January 21, 1947, in Ottumwa, Iowa to Thornton and Lena (Hopkins) Countryman. She lived a life defined by kindness, hard work and dedication to her family. Cheryl spent her career at General Motors working on the assembly line. She she was known for her loyalty, and work ethic, and retired after many years of service. In addition, she served as a bartender at the American Legion Post #416 for many years, creating lasting memories and friendships along the way.
Cheryl had a passion for socializing and enjoyed spending her leisure time golfing, cooking, baking, and crocheting. A true sports fan, she cheered tirelessly for the Detroit Lions, sharing her enthusiasm with those around her.
Her grandchildren were her first priority, and she cherished every moment she spent with them. Cheryl is survived by her daughters, Stacy Brinks of Flint, MI, and Sherry (Robert) Fiske of Kendallville, IN. She was blessed with nine grandchildren: Shane, Travis, Zachary, Samuel, Jordan, Jacob, Spencer, Maygen, and Gavin, along with many great-grandchildren who will fondly remember her nurturing spirit. Cheryl also leaves behind three siblings, Tomma, Patti, and Karen.
Cheryl was preceded in death by her beloved husband Samuel D. Hull, her son Scott, her daughter Shannon, and her brothers Gary Sr. and Gerry.
A memorial visitation to honor Cheryl’s life will be held on September 7, 2025. Visitation will take place from 10:00 AM to 2:00 PM at Steuernol & McLaren Funeral Homes - St. Helen, located at 702 N St Helen Rd, St Helen, MI. Following visitation, a luncheon gathering will be held at the American Legion Post #416 at 10062 Ford Drive, Richfield Township, MI, starting at 2:30 PM.
Cheryl will be remembered for her lasting impact on her family and friends, and her legacy will live on through the love she shared with all. If you wish to honor her with a memorial contribution please consider the Am. Legion Post #416.
