Clifford Moore

Clifford Moore, who was born on December 29, 1932, in Hazard, Kentucky, passed away on Monday, August 25, 2025, at Covenant Hospital in Saginaw, Michigan at the age of 92. He lived in Alger for the past 27 years, formerly of Plymouth, MI.

He led a life grounded in the simplicity and hard work of farm life, having grown up on a farm in Kentucky. Clifford was a corporal in the United States Army during the Korean War.

Clifford had a variety of interests that brought him joy throughout his life. He enjoyed gardening, where he could nurture plants and watch them grow. He was an artist and also found pleasure in sign painting, a skill that allowed him to express his creativity. Fishing was another hobby close to his heart, as were deer and squirrel hunting, which he cherished as a way to connect with nature and spend time outdoors.

He is survived by his son, Steven Moore; his daughter, Theresa (David) Waun; and his stepson, James Edward (Arlene) Reed. Additionally, he leaves behind many grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews, and cousins who will all remember him fondly.

Clifford was preceded in death by his parents, James and Loretta (Combs) Moore; his first wife, June D. England; his second wife, Janet Moore; his son, Gary Lee Moore; stepdaughter Theresa Fay Reed; a great-grandchild, Alayna June Moore; and several siblings.

His legacy will live on in the hearts of those he loved and who loved him.

Visitation at Maggard’s Mountain View Chapel, 352 Roy Campbell Drive, Hazard, KY will begin on Thursday, September 4, 2025, from 12:00 p.m. until the time of the funeral service at 1:00 p.m. Burial will follow at the Resthaven Cemetery in Jeff, KY. Pastor David J. Waun will officiate.
