Clifford George Parent, born on July 7, 1934, in Detroit, Michigan to George and Helen (Maas) Parent, passed away peacefully at his home on March 9, 2026. At the age of 91, he leaves behind a legacy that reflects a life well-lived and a spirit that touched many.
Cliff dedicated a significant portion of his professional life to the field of commercial printing, from which he eventually retired. His career was marked not only by hard work but also by a deep passion for the various endeavors he pursued throughout his life. Beyond printing, he was a successful real estate agent and conducted estate sales, displaying a keen eye for valuable treasures. He also ran a booth at the West Branch antique mall and operated two antique shops in Rose City, where he shared his love for nostalgia and history with countless visitors.
Cliff's interests were diverse, ranging from a profound appreciation for westerns and cowboys to a hands-on involvement in his community. For many years, he collaborated with locals to bring renowned cowboys to the area each Fourth of July, creating cherished memories for those who attended. His enthusiasm for antiques and auctions broadened his social circle and allowed him to connect with others who shared his passions. In his later years, Cliff became notably involved in local food drives, demonstrating his commitment to giving back and supporting those in need.
A proud veteran, Cliff honorably served in the Army, spending a significant part of his service in Germany. This experience added depth to his character, and his military service was a point of pride for him throughout his life.
Cliff is survived by his niece, Kathy (Lane) Myers (Kirk Bannerman); nephew, Jeremy Lane; grandniece, Allyson (Myers) LeGris (Vincent); grandnephews, John Myers, and good friend; Lloyd Meir. He was predeceased by his beloved parents, George and Helen Parent and sister, Darlene (Parent) Lane.
In recognition of his life and contributions to community and family, a visitation will be held at Steuernol & McLaren Funeral Homes - Rose City on March 14, 2026, from 12:00 PM to 2:00 PM, followed by a military honors starting at 2:00 PM. Military honors will take place at the same location, located at 611 S Bennett St., Rose City, MI 48654.
Cliff's spirit, dedication, and genuine kindness will be deeply missed by all who knew him. His memory will be cherished by family and friends, as a reminder of a remarkable man who embodied a true zest for life.
