David Scott Goodfellow, a cherished husband, father, grandfather, and friend, passed away on Wednesday, November 26, 2025, at his home in West Branch, MI, at the age of 68. Born in Detroit, MI, on November 2, 1957, David lived a life rich with love, dedication, and joyful memories. He lived in West Branch since 1968, formerly of Detroit.
On September 11, 1982, he married Renee Mier in West Branch.
A proud graduate of Ogemaw Heights High School, Class of 1975, David was well-regarded in the auto industry, where he devoted his career to Delphi, Nexteer, and Goldstar Coating. His work ethic and commitment to excellence earned him the respect of colleagues and friends alike. With a spirit that mirrored his working life, he also served his country honorably in the United States Air Force from 1975 to 1976.
David was a member of the Moose Lodge in West Branch, contributing to the warmth and camaraderie that the lodge represents. His laughter and kindness were contagious, drawing people to him and establishing lasting friendships in every aspect of his life.
When he wasn’t immersed in work, David found joy in his hobbies. He was an enthusiastic bowler, relishing the friendly competition. His love for the outdoors was evident as he enjoyed spending time at his home by the lake, where sunny days would often be spent cruising on his pontoon, soaking in the beauty of nature.
David leaves behind a beloved family who treasured his presence immensely. He is survived by his loving wife, Renee Goodfellow, his two daughters, Melissa (Adam) Vollmer and Heather (Nick) Nowaczyk. David’s laughter and wisdom will forever echo in the hearts of his grandchildren, Carter, Brantley, and Kyson, whom he adored and who brought him immense joy and pride.
David is preceded in death by his parents, Frank and Edna (Staweke) Goodfellow,
David Scott Goodfellow's life was a vibrant tapestry woven with love, integrity, and adventure. He will be remembered not only for his achievements but more importantly for the love he showed to those around him.
A private family memorial will be held.
