Diane Virginia Schneider (née Simon), age 74, of St. Helen, Michigan, passed away surrounded by her family on July 28, 2026.
Diane was born on March 20, 1952, to Gilbert and Marie Simon, and was raised in Fowler, Michigan. She graduated from Fowler High School, and on June 3, 1972, married the love of her life, Robert Schneider. Together, Bob and Diane made their home in St. Helen in 1974, where Diane devoted herself to her family—raising their five children with love, patience, and always being the heart of the home.
Once her children were grown, Diane continued to serve her community in meaningful ways. She served as Treasurer of Richfield Township and later worked for several years at the Kirtland Community College bookstore before retiring in 2020.
Diane was deeply devoted to her Catholic faith and to her family. She was a longtime parishioner of St. Helen Catholic Church, where she faithfully ironed the altar linens for 24 years. Her kindness, her family, and her faith remained at the center of who she was. She found joy in the little moments as well as in celebrating the bigger milestones of her family and friends.
Diane will be most remembered for her dedication to her children, her quiet humility, her instinctive gift with babies and little ones, and for her love and kindness as a wife and friend to so many.
She is survived by her husband of 54 years, Robert; her children Vicki (Randall) Clayton, Amy (Kenneth) Perlman, Beth (William) Wahl, Brian (Erica) Schneider, and Brad (Shana) Schneider; 24 grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.
She will be greatly missed and lovingly remembered by all who had the privilege of knowing her.
