Donald John Mraz, affectionately known as Don, passed away on Sunday, January 11, 2026, at MyMichigan Medical Center in West Branch, MI at the age of 86. He was born on November 30, 1939, in Flint, MI and lived in St. Helen, MI for the last 26 years, formerly of Grand Blanc.

Don married Sharen Banks in Fenton on May 25, 1962.

Don graduated from Grand Blanc High School in 1958. During his high school years, he proudly contributed to the athletics of his school as part of the State Championship Football team. Following his graduation, Don pursued higher education and earned his LPN, marking the beginning of a dedicated career in healthcare and public service.

Don served honorably in the United States Army National Guard. After his military service, he worked diligently at the Grand Blanc Township Police Department and Hurley Hospital, where he made a positive impact on the lives of many. In pursuit of new challenges, Don eventually joined Buick, where he continued to serve his community until his retirement in 2000. After retirement, he relocated to St. Helen, Michigan, a place that became his cherished home.

Throughout his life, Don was deeply engaged with various organizations. He was a proud member of the American Legion Post#416 in St. Helen, Masonic Lodge in Grand Blanc, participated in the Shriner's, and was involved with the Boy Scouts. His love for music was evident as he shared his talent as a bagpiper, enriching many gatherings with the sounds of his instrument.

Don had a passion for the outdoors, and he cherished moments spent fishing, boating, and hunting. These hobbies provided him with joy and created lasting memories with his loved ones.

He is survived by his loving wife, Sharen Mraz; children, Tamara (James) Rose, Daniel (Cindy Broecker Mraz) Mraz, and Cindy (David Stoll) Mraz; grandchildren, Heather Rose and Alexander Mraz; sisters, Lynette (Ron) Pruett and Suzette (Mike) Brooks; sister-in-law, Pam Mraz, along with several nieces and nephews.

He is preceded in death by his parents, Jack and Eloise (Rockwell) Mraz and brother, Ronald Mraz.

Cremation has taken place and no service is scheduled at this time.
