West Branch, MI

Doris Marie Buzzie, age 92, peacefully passed away on Sunday, August 4 2024, at Sherman Glen in National City, MI. She was surrounded by love in her final moments. Doris was born on October 16, 1931 in Port Huron, MI to Francis and Mildred (Wiegand) Brewer.  She lived in West Branch for the past 4 years, formerly of Livonia/Lincoln Park, MI.

Doris was the beloved wife of the late Robert Buzzie who preceded her in death in 2007.

Doris lived a life full of warmth and compassion, touching the hearts of all who knew her. She was a proud member of the Red Hat Society and actively involved with Little League Baseball and Cub Scouts. Doris also honored her country as she attended the USS Navy Reunion with her husband as part of the USS Dashiell.

Her interests were vast and brought immense joy into her life; from playing cards to traveling, to family gatherings to spending quality time with her children and grandchildren, Doris had a way of making everyone feel special and cherished.

Doris leaves behind a legacy of boundless love and kindness to be carried on by her surviving family. She is remembered fondly by her children Mildred Cummings, Robert (Janay) Buzzie, James (Mary) Buzzie, David (Karen) Buzzie, and Judy (James) Scroggin. Additionally, she is survived by 9 grandchildren, 15 great-grandchildren, sisters Frances Chadwick and Charlene Pettit, as well as several loving nieces and nephews who held a special place in her heart.

She was met at heaven's gates by her parents, husband, brothers Don and Bob, sister Sandy, and son-in-law Robert Cummings. They have surely welcomed her with open arms into eternal peace.

A Celebration of Doris's life will take place at Steuernol & McLaren Funeral Home in West Branch on Thursday, August 8, 2024, starting at 12:00 PM followed by a Funeral Service at 2:00 PM. Rev. Kenny Buzzie will officiate.  It will be a time to share a memory of her journey on earth and the love she shared with all.
