Douglas Lee Smith

Douglas Lee Smith, age 64, passed away on Friday, October 2, 2026, at his home in West Branch, Michigan. He was born on September 17, 1962, in Lansing, Michigan to Vernon and Marcia (Keel) Smith.

Douglas worked in the restaurant industry as a cook before his retirement. He was known to enjoy reading and spending time with his friends, and those simple pleasures were an important part of his life.

He is survived by his son, Tyler Smith; his father, Vernon Smith; his sister, Cheryl McFarland, and her husband, Kevin; his brother, Kevin Smith, and his wife, Debbie; his brother, Michael Smith, and his wife, Leanne; and his two granddaughters; McKenna and Anastasia. He will also be remembered by the many friends whose time and companionship meant so much to him.

Douglas was preceded in death by his mother, Marcia Smith, and his sister, Teresa Pike.

He will be remembered with love by his family and friends, who will carry his memory with them always.

Cremation has taken place and no services have been planned at this time.
