Edward L. Zimmer

Edward L. Zimmer, fondly known as Ed, passed away peacefully on December 25, 2025, at the MyMichigan Medical Center in West Branch, Michigan. Born on October 27, 1936, in West Branch to Harry and Marjorie (Osborne) Zimmer, Ed lived a life full of dedication, love, and community service.

Ed devoted many years to his career, working diligently at notable companies such as AC Spark Plug, Franklin Forge, and West Branch Insulation. Beyond his professional endeavors, he proudly served in the United States Navy for four years, an experience that shaped his character and instilled in him a profound sense of duty.

A man who found joy in life's simple pleasures, Ed was often found playing cards, watching Westerns on television, and patronizing fast food restaurants. Above all, his love for family was paramount. He cherished visiting with his loved ones and maintained strong connections with those around him.

Ed was preceded in death by his beloved wife of 30 years, Judy Zimmer, as well as his son Andrew Zimmer. He is also preceded by his brothers Albert, Harry, and Tommy Zimmer, and his sisters Frances Brown and Cora Terry. His memory will continue to live on through his children, Paul (Nicole) Zimmer and Tracy (Brenda) Zimmer, along with his cherished grandchildren, Bryce, Joree (Randall), Taylor, and Jody. Ed was also a proud great-grandfather to Laynen, Emmie, Caison, and Scarlett.

A visitation to honor Edward will take place on December 29, 2025, from 4:00 PM to 8:00 PM at Steuernol & McLaren Funeral Homes in West Branch, located at 109 E Houghton Ave, West Branch, MI 48661. Following the visitation, a graveside service will be held at Brookside Cemetery on December 30, 2025, beginning at 11:00 AM, located at Brookside Drive, West Branch, MI 48661.

Ed will be remembered for his warm spirit, unwavering loyalty to his family and friends, and his ability to bring light into the lives of those fortunate enough to know him.
