Eugene Keith Hill, “Screwy”, passed away on Tuesday, February 3, 2026, at his home in Alger, MI, surrounded by his family, at the age of 74. Born on October 1, 1951, in Brown City, MI, to Edsel and Gladys (Underhill) Hill. He lived in Alger for the past 32 years, formerly of Brown City.
On November 12, 1988, he married Deborah Meffer in Mt. Clemens. MI.
A graduate of Brown City High School, Class of 1968, Eugene’s early years laid the foundation for a life filled with service and dedication. His sense of duty extended beyond the workplace, as he honorably served in the Army during the Vietnam War, exemplifying his commitment to his country.
Eugene had a long and fulfilling career, as a valued employee at Ford Motor Company in the maintenance department and spending 40 years with the Union Cement Finisher Local 514. His commitment to his profession was paralleled by his passion for motorsports, as an enthusiastic follower of The Street Outlaws and street drag racing.
Beyond his professional achievements, Eugene was a man of many interests. He had a deep appreciation for motorcycles, particularly enjoying his Harley 1982 FLH and 2004 FLH Trike. A lover of the outdoors, he took pleasure in hunting with both bow and rifle. He tended to his gardens and canning his produce. Most importantly, Eugene relished the time spent with his family, cherishing every moment shared.
Eugene is survived by his beloved wife, Deborah Hill, and their children: Edsel (Bethanie) Hill, Alex (Lorren) Hill, Jamie Rankine, and Kelsey (Trent) Gray. The joy of his life extended to his grandchildren, Elijah and Bryce, and he was a great grandfather to Jordan, Exton, and Zyair. He is also survived by his brother, Richard (Melonie) Hill, and his angel dog, Molly, the newest family addition.
Eugene was preceded in death by his parents.
