With profound sadness, we announce the passing of Geraldine Ann Dielenhein at 95 ½ years old on September 2, 2025 in St. Helen, Michigan. Following a brief illness, she passed peacefully in the presence of loved ones and the Lord.
Born on February 25, 1930 to August John Stiehr and Josephine Elisabeth Peltier Stiehr, Gerry grew into a woman of deep faith, kindness, and creativity.
On June 7, l951, she married her soul mate, Julius Francis “Fran” Dielenhein. Together they shared 72 years of marriage filled with love, respect, and devotion to each other and God. Gerry dedicated her life to creating a loving, nurturing home for their five children. Her family remained her greatest joy.
In addition to her role as devoted wife and mother, Gerry held many accomplishments in life. She attended Madonna College, graduating in July 1981 with a Bachelor of Science in Gerontology and Art. A gifted artist, she held showings at Madonna College, and her artwork continues to be treasured in the homes of her family. Gerry also gave generously of her time, volunteering for many years at St. Vincent DePaul in Michigan and Florida.
Gerry's nurturing soul extended to her gardens, where she lovingly cultivated beautiful perennial flowers. She passed this love of gardening on to her children, leaving them with both blooms and cherished memories. Known for her vibrant spirit, sharp wit, and unforgettable laughter, Gerry brought joy to all who knew her. She and Fran always gave thanks for the blessings in their lives and never hesitated to share them with others.
Gerry was preceded in death by her beloved husband Fran Dielenhein.
She is survived by her 5 children: Michael (Susan) Dielenhein, Deborah Van Wyck, Stephen (Michael Sutton) Dielenhein, Sharon Dielenhein, Suzan Dielenhein Myers; her grandchildren: Tonya Hartzler, Michelle (Chris) Koczan, Megan (Wesley) Todd, Nicolle Myers, Stephanie (Mark) Myers Butner; and her great-grandchildren: Hailey Lenzing, Blake Lenzing, Alex Koczan, Anniston Koczan, Carter Koczan, Adeline Todd, and Greyson Butner.
A memorial mass celebrating her life and legacy will be held on October 24th, 2025 at 10:00 am at
St. Peter's Church: 5130 Rattlesnake Hammock Rd, Naples, Florida 34113
In honor of Gerry's compassionate soul, the family requests donations to be made in her name to St. Vincent Depaul (Naples, FL) or St. Peter's Church Youth Programs (Naples, FL) in lieu of flowers.
