Glenn Adair-Stantiford of Manton, MI passed peacefully at age 77 surrounded by family on Saturday, June 27, 2026. He was born in Goodrich, MI to Alex Stantiford and Joyce (Weidenhammer) Stantiford on December 17, 1948.
Glenn joined the United States Marine Corps on 25 November 1966 and completed 21 months in Vietnam earning several awards with “V” (valor device) and two Purple Heart Medals.
After leaving the military he married and had two children, Todd Stantiford and Shannon (Stantiford) Wagner. He later remarried Millie (Hodgkinson) Stantiford in 30 December 1981. He lived with her and her son Randy Rau in West Branch, MI until he joined the United States Marine Corps.
Glenn and Millie lived in West Virginia and Virginia with Pearl (Belden) Oliver of West Branch, MI. until her passing in 2012.
Glenn and Millie moved back to Michigan several years ago to live with their son Randy and daughter-in-law Laura (Medford) Rau in the metropolis of Manton, MI.
Glenn was preceded in death by his parents and brother Eric Stantiford.
He is survived by his brother Patrick Stantiford and sister Sharron (Horiszny) Stantiford of Manistee, MI as well as six grandchildren and ten great grandchildren all over the United States.
Glenn is a life member of the VFW, Purple Heart Association, Disabled American Veterans, and Vietnam Veterans of America. He is a member in good standing of the American Legion in Fife Lake, MI.
He enjoyed watching animals outside his home including rabbits, deer, and birds. He especially liked “Woody” the woodpecker that would take his seeds and place them between two boards to peck them open and eat the seeds. He loved to go shooting and target practicing. He would watch the news (Fox and Newsmax) and surf the internet daily trying to come up with a solution to the world’s problems (of which he believed there were many). He also enjoyed looking at animal videos, old movies, and watching Dr. Pol on National Geographic Wild.
There will be graveside service with military honors at 2 p.m. on 03 July 2026 at Brookside Cemetery in West Branch, MI. There will not be a showing.
