Hazel Fay Hess

It is with profound sadness and heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Hazel Fay Hess, a precious baby girl who was deeply loved by all of her family. Born and welcomed into this world on March 21, 2026, at Munson Medical Center in Traverse City, Michigan, Hazel’s life, though brief, touched the hearts of many.

From the very moment of her birth, Hazel was embraced by the unconditional love of her parents, Jacob Hess and Kayla Lasher. She was cherished by her big brother, Hunter Hess, her grandparents Philip and Debbie Lasher, John Hess, Kimberly Hess, and Becky Hollbrook. The love extended further to her uncle and aunts, Cody (Virginia Lake) Lasher, Kaitlin and Dan Deel, and Jessica and Kelly Ballard, as well as to the many cousins.

Though Hazel’s time with us was short, she is remembered not only by those who are still with us but also by those who have gone before her. We honor the memory of her grandparent Eric Derouchie; her great-grandparents Bernice Burns and Chrystal Lasher; and cherished cousins who have passed on.

In this tender moment of loss, Hazel’s family finds strength in the love they shared and the promise that she will forever remain a beloved part of their lives.
