Hazel Marion Peralta

May 23, 1948 — April 28, 2025

Rose City, MI

Hazel Marion Peralta, aged 76, passed away unexpectedly at her home on April 28, 2025. Born on May 23, 1948, in Oliver Springs, TN, an only child to her loving mother, Erie Cox Davis and Paul Bass.

Hazel was a loving mother to the late Tina (Patrick) Wilks with Joseph (Paula) Peralta and Jaime (William Jr.) Serra, left to carry on her legacy with great pride. As a devoted grandmother, she cherished the moments spent with her grandchildren: Megan Abdenour, Victoria (Pedro) Medina, Kalliopi Kazdaglis, Josephine (Nic) Aldape, Athena Kazdaglis, Alexandria (JJ) Cervantes, and William Serra III. Hazel also adored being a great-grandmother to Jonathan Price. She is survived by loving brothers, sisters, nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends who will remember her fondly.

As an adult she returned to school where she pursued a degree in Accountancy.

Throughout her life, Hazel’s spirit shone brightly, characterized by her immense love for others and a remarkable talent for storytelling and her amazing sense of humor. An accomplished cake decorator, artist, and gourmet chef, she excelled in various hobbies, including painting, gardening, sewing, and crocheting. Her passion for creativity was matched only by her devotion to her community as a very active member of the Holy Family Catholic Church including the Council of Catholic Women (CCW) and served as a eucharistic minister, leaving a lasting impact on those around her. She was also involved in the bell choir at St. Paul Cathedral Church in Detroit.

Hazel celebrated a remarkable partnership, having been married to her high school sweetheart and love of her life, John Peralta, for 57 years, 10 months, and 6 days. Their bond was an inspiring testament to enduring love.
