Janine D. Allen, age 75, passed away peacefully on Monday, November 17, 2025, at MyMichigan Medical Center in Midland, Michigan. Born on June 3, 1950, in Detroit, Michigan, Janine lived a life rich in connection and love, marked by her passion for family, friends, and her vibrant interests.

A proud graduate of Dearborn High School, Class of 1968, Janine took immense pride in her accomplishments and the values instilled in her during her formative years. Throughout her life, she was actively engaged in her community, having been a dedicated member of the Eagles and the Moose Lodge. She embraced these affiliations not just as social environments, but as avenues to foster connections and support to those around her.

Janine’s hobbies reflected her vibrant spirit; she had a passion for crocheting, skiing, horseback riding, and gardening. Additionally, she enjoyed attending concerts and participating in raffles, activities that often brought her closer to friends and family.

Janine was a devoted mother to her daughter, Julieanne Reno, and her son, Gregory (Hannah) Reno. She further embraced the joys of family as a stepmother to Gretchen (Vance) Arlotta, Nancy (Ken) Roberts, Martin (Angi) Allen, and David (Jodi) Allen. In her role as a grandmother, Janine cherished 12 grandchildren and 6 great-grandchildren, filling her heart and home with laughter and love.

She is survived by her beloved brothers, Mark Bettinger, David (Trudy) Bettinger, Jeffrie (Nancy) Bettinger, Robin (Penny) Bettinger, and Christopher (Jamie) Bettinger. Together, they shared many memories, laughter, and support throughout the years.

Janine will be remembered for her generous heart and the joy she spread to those around her. She was preceded in death by her parents, Robert and Genevieve (Maletz) Bettinger, and her beloved husband, David Allen, who passed away in July 2025. Their love and partnership will be a cherished memory for all who knew them.

Janine D. Allen left an indelible mark on the lives she touched, and her legacy will continue to be felt through her family and friends who will carry her memory in their hearts forever.

A celebration of life will be held at a later date.
