Joey Lee Collins

Joey Lee Collins, age 78, passed away on Sunday, July 18, 2021 at his home in West Branch, MI. He was born on August 20, 1942 in Wendel, WV to Robert and Alma (DeCosta) Collins. He lived in West Branch since 2001, formerly of Dearborn Heights, MI.

Joe married Sarah Palmer in Taylor, MI on October 13, 1973. He was a member of the UAW Local#735 and enjoyed hunting, fishing, raising honeybees, tinkering, and HAM radios.

Joe is survived by his loving wife of 47 years, Sarah Collins of West Branch; daughters, Tammy Jo (Mike Hagopian) Collins of Royal Oak, MI, Pamela Jean (Dr. Bradford) Woelke of Keego Harbor, MI, and Lisa Marie Thompson of West Branch; grandchildren, Robbie, Michael, Dr. Bradford Jr., Ethan, Eric, Savannah, and Dylan; great grandchildren, Hailey, Emma, and Harvey Joseph; siblings, Charlotte Mayle of Warren, MI, Freddie Collins of Canton, OH, Sherry (Jeff) Gordon of Clarkston, MI, and Gaye (Dale) Bennette of Warren, MI; aunt, Lorena Croston of Canton, OH; and many nieces, nephews and cousins.

He is preceded in death by his parents, brother, Ernest “Buddy” Collins and brother-in-law, Allen Mayle.

Per his wishes, cremation has taken place. A Celebration of Life Service will be held at a later time.
