John "Jack" Joseph Kempel

John “Jack” Kempel, age 89, passed away on Sunday, March 13, 2016 at his home in West Branch, MI. He had lived in West Branch since 1971, formerly of Waterford, MI. Jack was born in Detroit, MI on February 6, 1927 to John and Mary (Paul) Kempel. He worked as an engineer for Taylor Building Products from 1964 – 1992. Jack enjoyed woodworking, building houses, and spending time with family.

Jack is survived by his sons, Bruce (Kelly) Kempel of West Branch, MI and Glenn (Sherry) Kempel of West Branch, MI; grandchildren, Sarah (Daren) Walters, Jodi (Kevin) Taylor, Jenifer (Kyle) Shelley, Samantha (Jarren Nelson) Kempel; great grandchildren, Torey, Tanner, Charley, and RaeLynn; brother, Bob (Judy) Kempel of Lancaster, CA; sisters, Donna (Ed) Glick of Belleview, CA, Sandra Kempel of Portland, OR, June McMichael of Detroit, MI, Joan Roland of West Bloomfield, MI, and Jane (Mark) Raune of Windsor, Canada; sisters in law, Kaye McMichael of Chiefland, FL and Delores Hamer, of Belleville, FL; brother in law, Jim (Pat) Tyner of Port Huron, MI and dog, Winkie. He is preceded in death by his wife, Anita Kempel and brother, Walter McMichael.
