Joseph Arnold "Joe" Sakaly, 69, of Alger, Michigan, passed away on Monday, August 17, 2026, after a courageous battle with cancer.
Joe was born in West Branch, MI on Thursday, October 18, 1956, to Joseph and Regina Sakaly. He graduated from Standish-Sterling High School in 1974 and went on to earn a degree in Business Management from Central Michigan University. Every spring, he tapped trees to make his signature "Sakaly Maple Syrup," a yearly tradition he took great pride in. He also loved gardening, especially growing sunflowers, and looked forward each season to hunting for morel mushrooms with his good friend, Ken "M1" DeShaw.
Joe is survived by his partner and love of his life, Mary Hubbard; his sister, Debbie; and his brother, Jeff. He was preceded in death by his parents, Joseph and Regina (Kocot) Sakaly, and his uncle, Andrew (Fern) Sokaly.
