Kevin Carl Batzer, age 70, passed away on Monday, April 22, 2024, at his home in West Branch, MI. He was born on October 4, 1953, in Bay City, MI to Dranoel and Betty (Shann) Batzer. He lived in West Branch since 2023, previously of St. Helen, MI for 20 years.
Kevin led a fulfilling life marked by hard work and compassion. He was a proud member of the Steel Workers Union from 1978 to 1981 before transitioning to work at the Meijer Gas Station in Midland on Eastman Rd. Kevin's dedication to his work and community left a lasting impact on all who had the pleasure of knowing him. He attended Community of Christ Church in Bay City for many years.
Beyond his professional endeavors, Kevin found joy in various hobbies and interests. He had a deep love for fishing, animals, taking walks in nature, writing, photography, and reading sifi/fantasy books. His diverse interests reflected his curious spirit and appreciation for the world around him.
Kevin will be dearly missed by his surviving family and friends. He is survived by his friend Kathi Hurd of Houghton Lake, MI; son David (Stacey) Batzer of Ann Arbor, MI; daughter Laura Summers of East Lansing, MI; granddaughters Kate, Veronica, and Arianna; as well as his brother Michael Batzer of IN.
He is preceded in death by his loving parents, brother Steve Batzer, sister Laura Batzer, and nephew Josh Batzer. Kevin's kindness, warmth, and unwavering love for his family and friends will forever be remembered.
Cremation has taken place, and no service is scheduled at this time.
