It is with broken hearts and profound sadness that we announce the passing of Mary Louise Briggs, who passed away on October 17, 2026, at the age of 52.
Mary’s passing came far too soon. On September 21, 2026, her family learned that she had stage IV lung cancer. Sadly, by the time the cancer was discovered, it had already spread rapidly, leaving little time for treatment to help. Her family was left with very little time to process the devastating news and face the reality of losing someone so deeply loved. Her passing has left an unimaginable emptiness in the hearts of those who loved her.
Mary was a loving wife, mother, and grandmother whose big heart and forgiving nature made her special to those who knew her. She had a beautiful ability to forgive others and love with an open heart. She will be remembered for her kindness, her compassion, and the love she shared with the people closest to her.
Above all, Mary loved her family. Spending time with her children and granddaughter, Shelby Cobra, meant so much to her. The moments they shared, whether big or small, were precious parts of her life. Her family was at the center of her world, and the love she gave them will continue to live on long after her passing.
Mary also had a special love for her dogs, Penny and Poppy, who brought companionship and happiness into her life. She enjoyed relaxing and watching her favorite reality television shows, spending time with her loved ones, and watching Waylon and Colt. These simple pleasures were part of what made Mary who she was and the memories her family will hold close to their hearts.
Mary leaves behind her loving husband, Michael Briggs; her children, Amanda Mitchell and Dusty Briggs; and her beloved granddaughter, Shelby Cobra. She will also be remembered by all the family members and friends whose lives she touched.
Mary was preceded in death by her beloved middle child, Mikey Briggs, who passed away on January 17, 2014. The loss of a child is a heartbreak no parent should ever have to endure. Mikey will forever remain a part of Mary’s story and the family who loves him. Though they were separated in this life, his memory will always be held close by those who carry him in their hearts.
Although Mary’s time on earth was far too short, the love she gave, the forgiveness she showed, and the memories she leaves behind will never be forgotten. Her family will forever wish for more time, more conversations, more laughter, and more moments together. While nothing can take away the pain of losing her, they can find comfort in the memories they shared and the love that will always connect them.
A mother’s love never truly leaves us. It lives on in the hearts of her children, in the memories of her granddaughter, and in the countless little things that remind us of her. Mary will always be loved, deeply missed, and remembered.
Rest peacefully, Mary. You were taken far too soon, but you will never be forgotten. May you be free from pain and reunited with Mikey. Until we meet again, your love will remain with your family forever.
