Matilda O. Meier

Matilda O. Meier, age 95 of Alger, passed away Saturday, August 2, 2008 at Bortz Health Care of Rose City. Matilda had lived in the Alger area for most of her life. She was a member of St. John Lutheran Church and she enjoyed bingo, puzzles, hunting, trapping and working in the Bortz Snack Shop. Matilda is survived by her brother, Agustoff Sanders of Alger and her sister, Hilda Miller of Berkley and many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her husband, Fred in 1982 and several brothers and sisters. Visitation at the Steuernol & McLaren Funeral Home in West Branch will begin on Thursday, August 7, 2008 from 4-6 p.m. On Friday, visitation will begin at 1:00 p.m. until the time of the service at 2:00 p.m. Pastor Howard Travis will officiate with burial following at Edwards Township Cemetery.
